NETWORK ENGINEER

POSTING DATE: 10 March 2017 TITLE: Network Engineer EXEMPT/NON-EXEMPT: EXEMPT CLOSING DATE: 1 June 2017 DEPARTMENT: Engineering REPORTS TO: General Manager LOCATION: Brewster, WA 98812 GENERAL PURPOSE US Electrodynamics, Inc. is a privately-owned communications company using a combination of satellite and terrestrial infrastructures to deliver flexible solutions for the video, voice, data, and internet service needs for all commercial and government customer applications.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, VPN, etc.)
• Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations
• Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability by comprehensive metrics
• Monitor system resource utilization, trending and capacity planning using system metrics and system tools
• Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues
• Select and implement security tools, policies and procedures
• Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution, enhancement and process improvement
• Maintain technical currency
• Create operational procedures
• Train operations staff

REQUIREMENTS
• Proven hands-on network experience
• CCNA or higher (CCIE, CCNP, and/or CISSP highly valued)
• Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, MPLS)
• Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model
• Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools
• Flexibility, reliability and readiness to work both independently and in a team environment without direct supervision

OPERATIONS TECHNICIAN

POSTING DATE: 10 March 2017 CLOSING DATE: Open TITLE: Operations Technician Level-1 DEPARTMENT: OPERATIONS EXEMPT/NON-EXEMPT: NON-EXEMPT REPORTS TO: Operations Manager LOCATION: Vernon Valley, NJ 07462 / Brewster, WA 98812 GENERAL PURPOSE US Electrodynamics, Inc. is a privately-owned communications company using a combination of satellite and terrestrial infrastructures to deliver flexible solutions for the video, voice, data, and internet service needs for all commercial and government customer applications.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Earth station antenna control
• Satellite access for occasional and full time services
• Video/audio content delivery for occasional and full time service customers.
• Installation, configuration, activation, testing, monitoring and troubleshooting of satellite services and their subsequent equipment
• Installation, configuration, activation, testing, monitoring and troubleshooting of terrestrial network services
• Operation of test measurement and diagnostic equipment to analyze, troubleshoot, and baseline document satellite and terrestrial network services
• Perform technical measurements and evaluations as necessary (RF, EIRP, C/N, etc.)
• Perform basic preventative/periodic maintenance checked of ground station equipment and associated sub-systems
• Conduct/provide support to customer service related issues and troubleshooting
• Conduct/provide basic components of emergency restoral procedures for ground station equipment

TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum two years of experience in satellite communications and customer service, and/or equivalent technical training
• Minimum high school diploma
• Technical training in electronics and related communications
• Ability to grasp and learn new technologies and services
• Fluent in English, spoken and written is required
• General PC skills and the ability to proficiently use "MS Office Suite" software
• Flexibility, reliability and readiness to work both independently and in a team environment without direct supervision
• Requires US citizenship or Green Card
PHYSICAL/SENSORY DEMANDS
• Must have good language, communications, mathematical and reasoning abilities
• Requires 12-hour shift coverage to provide 24x7x365 coverage including Holidays-
working rotating shift schedule
• Ability to work in elevated positions
• Able to lift/carry up to 70 lbs

• Flexibility, reliability and readiness to work both independently and in a team environment without direct supervision

• Travel may be required
